Tall Fall Pumpkin Tower

I’m loving Fall and getting the house ready with some DIY Decor. (Including a Fall bedroom makeover here). This project below was created using just some Dollar store items and makes for a cute centerpiece or serving station. Although I used dollar store items for mine, I know that sometimes by the time you get to the store they’re out of these things. So, I’ll include links to find comparable items on Amazon.

Throughout my site I provide affiliate links to products that I hope will help you with your DIY project supplies. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. This means that I may receive a small commission if you use these links to purchase products, but it does not change your price in any way.

Craft Pumpkins
Plant Foam
Gold Spray Paint
Skewers
Fall Leaves

1. Gather your pumpkins

I gathered together 3 different sized pumpkins. Ideally you’d go from large to small, but my bottom two pumpkins weren’t that different in size.

2. Remove the stem

You’ll want to remove the stem from the two larger pumpkins. Leave the stem on the smallest “top” pumpkin. Removing the pumpkin stem was easy, just a quick twist and pull and it came right off.

3. Look at your design

I stacked my pumpkins to see how they’d look.

4. Paint as needed

I wanted to make the final design look more cohesive. The easiest way to do this was to paint them all the same color. I happened to have some gold spray paint in the garage, leftover from another project I imagine.

I sprayed them and gave them about an hour and a half to dry. They took up the paint easily.

5. Start creating your tower

Stick a skewer into the pumpkin–it goes in easily. You’ll then put a piece of plant foam or craft foam on. And then stack your next pumpkin.

6. The tower

Now you’ve got a nice tower with your pumpkins spaced by the foam pieces.

7. Add foliage

You can press your leaves into the foam. It just pokes right in.

8. Decorate

Now you’ll just keep placing the leaves and decorating and shaping it as you like.

Voila!

Easy as that, you have a cute pumpkin tower. I think I maybe could have used some slightly smaller leaves, and I think I might add in some other elements like little acorn decor as well.

The nice thing is that you can really pierce the foam pieces with anything you like. I also think it would be great to wrap the foam and then skewer it with fruit skewers and use it as a serving station that way. Or you could probably do something creative with candy corn or other fall colored candies.

If you do create one of these pumpkin towers, I hope you’ll send me a picture of it so that I can share you vision and your project here for others to see and get inspired by!
