Moving Day

It is exciting to move into your new home, especially when you are moving for new beginnings. It could be that your family is growing, you’re starting a family, or you want to move to your forever home, or another reason. Whatever the reason may be, you don’t need your move to be complicated or stressful. It can be worrying to think about moving but don’t panic. With the tips below you will be able to plan and move with less worry.
Pack Far In Advance
Even if you think it might be too soon to start packing, it’s probably right on schedule. If you are thinking about it, it must mean you can do without the items you are considering packing away. The sooner you can start packing the better really. If you start early, it also gives you the chance to sort through your belongings as you pack them. If you pack up too close to moving, you won’t have time and you will just end up taking stuff that could have been donated with you for no reason. The more you organize before you move, the better.
Rope In Older Children
If your kids are the right age, you can most definitely get them involved in the moving process. Especially when it comes to their own room. Give them the tasks of sorting through what they want to donate, what they want to take with them, and anything that is rubbish. Guide them through the packing process show them how they can protect their valuables or breakables and then show them how to label their boxes. This will help them to unpack their room at the other end too. This should make them feel more at home straight away as they will know exactly what boxes their items are in.

Get Help With The Move
If you move by yourself, moving day can be extremely stressful. You should try to get as much help as possible. From top moving companies, your family, and friends. If you are getting your family and friends to help make sure you treat everyone to a takeaway or drinks once everything is moved and in place. You could even throw a housewarming/thanking party. If you hire a moving company, you can also guarantee that your move will go off without a hitch.
Get Babysitters
If you have young children or pets, it’s probably a better idea to make sure they are occupied and away from the move on the day with a babysitter. It’s safer for them and it will stop you from being distracted. It can be an extremely stressful day, add children into the mix and your stress levels might just explode. Speak to a family member or friend and see if they are able to help you in this way.
These tips should help to keep your moving day simple and stress-free. If you are moving soon, good luck and we hope that it goes off without any problems!
